NIGHTMARES / BAD DREAM

This is a situation where by a person expense frightening or surreptitious dreams, which later culminate in the ill-health of the person. Sometimes, some activities such as sexual intercourse, eating during dream, were carrying a baby during dream, bad omen, counting of money, building a house, celebrating a birthday or being pursued by some negative forces, e t c.
This affects the person adversely when he wakes up, according to a stanza of ifá in {Òtúrá ìrosùn} which read thus;

Òtúrá roro
Ìrosùn naa roro
Dífá fún Àlá
Tíí ṣ’ọmọ ìkẹ́yìn eríwo
`Njẹ́ tí a bá lówó lójú àlá
Tí a bá jíi a fẹẹ kù
Àlá o dé o, atan níjẹ
Bí a bá bímọ lójú àlá
Tí a bá jíi a fẹẹ kù
Àlá o dé o, atan níjẹ
Bí a bá níre gbogbo lójú àlá
Tí a bá jí a fẹẹ kù
Àlá o dé o, atan níjẹ

Translation:
Òtúrá roro }
} Alias of awo
Ìrosùn naa roro }

They cast ifá for {Àlá} dream
He who was the youngest sibling to Eríwo
If we dreamt of possessing money
When we wake up, it becomes elusive
Here comes dream, the deceiver
If we dreamt of having a child
When we wake up, it becomes elusive
If we dreamt of having all good luck in life
When we wake up, they all becomes elusive
Here comes dream, the deceiver

In a stanza of Èjì Ogbè, Ifá says with appropriate ẹbọ/ètùtù, all bad dreams/nightmares that result to death, ailment, loss or contention shall be overcome. The stanza goes thus:

Olúmini jiìnmini
Babaláwo ilé Àgbọnnìrègún
Díá fún Àgbọnnìrègún Ẹ̀dú Ọlọ́jà Orìbojo Níjọ́ tí t’íkú-t’árùn ńkan ilé rẹ̀ réè
Tí Ajogun ikú nkan ilé rẹ̀ ní lílọ
Tó nfojoojúmọ́ sùn orun ìsùn ki sùn
Ó nfojoojúmọ́ la àlákálàá
Wọ́n ní kò ṣákáalẹ̀ ẹbọ ní ṣíṣe
Ó gbẹ́bọ, ó rúbọ
Njẹ́ ikú wọlé kò lè fọhùn

Àrùn wọlé kò lè fọhùn
Olúmini jiìnmini
Ẹjọ́ wọlẹ́ kọ̀ lè fọhùn

When Death and Affliction were heading towards his house
All evil forces were marching to his house
He was having nightmares everyday
And was also having bad dreams
He was advised to offer ẹbọ
He complied

When death entered the house, it refused to utter a sound (became powerless)
